While you don't technically do not need to include the kids' UK passports, I would do so anyway. I hired an immigration advisor for my visa application and she had me do this very thing. (well, copies of the UK passports along with copies of their birth certificates) Now whether or not the fact that my kids and husband were in the UK while I applied was the reason for this, I don't know. It can't hurt your application whatsoever and will only strengthen it, imo.

Can't help with your second question, but I believe the majority of people who have obtained the KOL endorsement have specifically mentioned it in a covering letter attached to their supporting documentation, so I wouldn't think you're too late to request the concession.

You're correct, Meg. He can actually put in his sponsor letter that he and his wife have been married seven years (with tax returns as proof) and request a KOL req'd endorsement on his wife's visa. Again, this is what my immigration specialist who handled my visa application back in April had me do. Just my experience. :)

If you have children it is always a good idea to put in copies of their passports and/or birth certificates, just to strengthen the 'relationship' aspect. You are mentioning them in the form anyway, so I think it would look a little odd if children were referred to but there was no evidence of their existence!

The last post on this thread was in 2009 and many of the past commenters are no longer active here..

A quick search of the forum for "ILR in person" comes up with several more recent threads, including this one, where Travelling Frog goes through a great step-by-step to her in-person appointment in Croydon:  http://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=84222.0

Hope this helps.
