Optional State Sales Tax Tables
« on: February 04, 2005, 01:34:03 PM »
Apologies if this has been addressed in another thread, but what exactly IS this pamphlet for? And why did the IRS send it to me???

There's nothing unusual about my taxes. I've been 'happily' filling out and completing my 1040 with its companion 2555 for the past 4 years. I'm a normal person with normal pay under the exemption allowance. Married, filing separately. I own no property in the US and do not own my own business. I have no tax residence in any state. I have not even entered the US last year to make any purchases to deduct sales tax.

I'm as straight forward, tax-wise, as you can get.

What's the deal with this?? Should I just put it in the trash or is Pennsylvania now wanting me to do something? Has anyone else gotten this in the post?

I'd rather have my 1040/2555 forms delivered instead!

We got one too earlier this week in the mail.

I completely don't understand it as well??  I read it a few times and decided it didn't apply.
