Blackout!
« on: August 15, 2003, 05:28:13 PM »
Does anyone have any at risk family members or anyone else having difficulties with the blackout in the US and Canada? My grandma has respiratory problems and is now stuck without a/c. Has anyone been in contact with the folks back home?
Good things come to those who wait...a really long time.

In terms of family, everyone except my parents are out of power  (including the entire surrounding town and my grandma who lives less than 1 mile away from them ... so odd.)  Luckily no one is at risk because of it.  Just a mild nuisance for them.

I hope your grandma will be ok!!

I don't have any family there but I really feel for those people. It must be awful..especially in the heat of summer. :-/

I hope your grandma is ok and she gets her a/c back quickly. :)

My family in michigan lost power for about 19 hours....they were sweltering.  My grandma got a bit sluggish and worn down by the heat, but apparently my grandma was more upset about the fact that friday was her hair appointment day...and she couldn't go cuz of the blackout :)
