Just realised I never put my baby's birth announcement up, so now I'm feeling sheepish doing it so late, but I'll share anyway.  :-[ Our little Esther was born 17 June last year after a C-section. She was breech, and my second daughter had been 10 pounds. I was given the option of natural birth, but after much thought, didn't feel comfortable with the thought of pushing out another huge baby that was breech. So now I've done two natural deliveries with no pain relief (one was a water birth) and one C-section. I've covered the spectrum pretty well.

I meant to get on UKY, but we got pulled into taking care of her and I kind of abandoned UKY for a while. She cried painfully constantly for her early months and struggled for several months until we finally figured out she has a milk protein intolerance. Thankfully we had good help from our doctors, paediatricians, dieticians, etc, and all is great now. I've had to go dairy free since I'm breastfeeding, so I quickly learned that milk is hidden in EVERYTHING. Once I adjusted, we suddenly had the happiest, sweetest little cherub. She's delightful, which was such a relief after months of near non-stop tears. We just love having her as part of our family!

Now that I'm a bit further along and feel more confident, I suppose I should join this thread. I'm 18 weeks and 6 days into my first pregnancy, and the little one is due 3 weeks before my spousal visa runs out, so even more important to get my application for ILR sent off as soon as I can!

I'm due 16 June, although by my dates I'm not due until 20-22 June, so we will see!

Mrs T M, I had my first child three days before my birthday, and came home from the hospital to find my ILR waiting for me. I had sent mine off in pregnancy too. I said it was the best birthday presents ever!

I'm planning a home birth. Consultant is happy about it as long as nothing crops up, just need to get the midwives a bit more confident. I'm not too worried about getting the ILR. Just need to actually wait until my two years is up to apply. I'm excited about getting it and having the baby. :)

Sorry to not get back on here, like Cadenza things got a little out of hand.  We got home and since the midwives kept telling me at the hospital the breastfeeding looked good I listened.  That was a mistake and since we spent the first five days there and missed all the home midwife appointments, no one noticed she was losing weight until she was supposed to be discharged from midwife care. It took four weeks for her to regain her birthweight and we have been combo feeding ever since.

My milk never really came in and she had tongue tie/lip tie issues and jaundice.  So I think it is a combination of her bad feeding and my low production.  She is still on the small end of things around the 9th centile.

I finally called the hospital after waiting for 8 weeks to find out they had the test results for over a month. So, thank goodness, she doesn't have CF.  It would have been nice if they had let us know.

I would post a pic, but I can't seem to get it to work.  I must be losing my mind.

Bookgrl - congrats on your little one.  Glad she's now back up to birthweight and things are looking up...

My little Miss was born on 28-Jan, after a quick home hypno water birth.  Denial is a great pain relief.
If you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
