adverts you love & hate

HATE:  the new advert for KP peanuts where the baby elephant shoots the peanuts out of his trunk when he realises they're not KP.
It mainly bugs me because the voiceover claims that the reason KP peanuts taste so good is because they're exposed to 130 days of sunshine before being picked.  Nice.  But peanuts grow underground.  No sunshine underground.

Hah! Yeah, my daughter goes off about that every time the commercial plays. As in since when do peanuts spend any time above ground at all, save when being plowed up?   

My most intense dislike is reserved for the network that keeps showing a hard-of-hearing detective screwing things up in various police operations, between commercials and TV shows.  Shades of the Three Stooges, when poking someone in the eye or someone being assaulted/injured was considered laugh-worthy.  It's also rather annoying to those of us who do have some hearing loss... let's laugh at the guy with hearing loss, isn't he funny and an idiot?   

Sad as I am, I went to the KP nuts web site and found this:
"We only pick the finest peanuts, from plants which have grown in the sun for 130 days to get the perfect taste!"
It's the plants that are in the sun, although I don't think that's especially unique for a plant.

I also hate that commercial with a burning fury.  It's not funny at all, just stupid.

the new Fairy non-bio advert where this female voice sings a super-slowed-down, whispery, plaintive version of that 'head, shoulders, knees and toes' song.

Yeah, what exactly [wink,wink] is Ms. Head-n-Shoulders selling....?   

Haaaate the "How Andrex do you feel?" commercials with the kids. "I feel as clean as a! (insert adjectives and nouns that make no sense).'' Just dumb, and grates on me for some reason.

My fav commercial from a few years ago was Three's dancing Shetland pony. Really cute, and good song to go with it, too!

I'm so glad we don't have a TV license, and the only thing we watch is Netflix or Amazon Prime video!

It prompted me to actually look that stupid commercial up and I guess I pulled an Albatross because I said the same thing!!

It really is terrible. Forgot to mention this previously, but I'm currently in the US and I've seen the exact same advert for Cottonelle! (Andrex's sister company). American kids saying the same stupid things. "I feel as clean as shimmering mermaid." Hitting mute button in 3, 2, 1 

Last night I was watching Judge Judy (spoiler: she was in a really bad mood and kept calling everyone stupid ) and they had a new ad for Foxy Bingo.  The fox takes his head off and comes out of character and starts talking about his inner pathos!  I didn't know wether to poop or go blind.  It was the most cutting edge advert I've seen in a long time.
