Spuse Visa Marriage ?'s........
« on: July 08, 2005, 05:58:13 AM »
Hello everyone,
Here's one for you. My fiance is a UK citezen and I am a US citizen. I have been come recently divorced ( after a 2 year process ) and plan to marry my lovely fiance. Does anyone know if we were to marry in Mexico would that work for the U.K. Spouse Visa? She would come to the US then we would go to Mexico get married then apply for a Spouse Visa. Has anyone done this? Recommendation's for spots in Mexico?
 Pete

Because you're a US citizen and resident, it doesn't really matter where you are married.  You'll need to go to the UK Consulate in the USA to get your visa.

Additionally to Wishstar's excellent advice, you would note that Mexico is a non-Hague country, so you would be advised to get an apostile of your marriage license prior to your ILR application - if you were planning on going for the 2 year spousal ILR concession that is...

Otherwise everything's fine!
