It's a grain of some sort I believe.

Hey!!  Nothing beats Twinkies!!!  My grampa was a manager for ITT Continental Baking Co. - the company that made Twinkies when I was a kid.  We got to go through the factory/bakery and see them squirted full of the white stuff and eat them fresh off the conveyer belt.  MMmmmmmmm!!!!!  Twinkies and fruit pies - OH MY!!!

Too bad I can't eat like that anymore, or I'd LOOK like a Twinkie!!  :)
