Brit Spouse/Partner Picture Competition - VOTE!!
« on: January 22, 2006, 10:10:13 AM »
As a way of getting to know our Brit members (spouses, fiances, partners, significant others', whatever!) a bit better, this competition is based on your home town, ie where you grew up in the UK (if that's more than one place, you decide which!).  Post a photo of a place in your home town, telling us what and where it is.  I'll leave the competiton open for two weeks (so to Sunday 5 Feb) and then we'll take a vote as to which photo everyone likes best. So get those photos coming! It may be a site of historical interest, a picturesque nature spot or something funny - whatever reminds you of your home town. It doesn't have to be a photo you took yourself, one off the web is fine.

I'll start. I grew up in Maidenhead in Berkshire, this is an old bridge at Ray Mill Island, on the Thames.

Where are all the spouses of us UKYers?  I'll enter for my fiancĂ©, since he'd never come on this site, unfortunately.
He was born in St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland:

The BF isn't on UKY, so I'll post for him. He lives way way way down in Cornwall -- almost as far as you can go. Here's a pic of St. Michael's Mount:
