Being nearly packed for your move. We go Tuesday, and there is very little left to pack.

Joey gets to come to work with me!

Because hubs and I are working such long hours currently, getting everything switched over to the new ownership, new operating system, etc, poor Joey has been spending a lot of time on his own this past week. The owner said he can hang out at the front desk/office area with us if we want. Although he has to be caged so he doesn't escape out the front door, he can still have company while we are putting in the time. In a couple/few weeks we won't be putting in the crazy hours, and we can spend time with him and let him be out more than just an hour a day.

A nice sunny day with the cat outside sunning himself and allowing me to be on the computer for more than five minutes without him demanding chicken.  (yes he is spoiled.)

It's Mother's Day and it's the first time all three of my kids are old enough to put their money together from their EARNINGS from their jobs to get me a card, a cake and a small gift. They're 24, 18 and 15 :)

Reviving this topic because there's a lot going on in the world and we could use some positive distraction.  ;D

My happiness is finding a 5oz/141g box of Mike and Ikes yesterday for just £1.

I'm nearly finished with the box (in two sittings) and starting to feel like I've overdone it, but we didn't do anything for Easter, so this is just my belated sugar overload. ;)

Nice one, Travelling Frog!

Happiness, for me... a stay-cation!
I've been on holiday since last Thursday, and don't go back to work till the 24th!
I've been doing nothing!  Sleeping late, watching lots of telly, a couple of trips to the pub, and tried out an incredibly good new Chinese restaurant in town.

Today I went to Ikea, and while there, I ran into a former work colleague who had moved to France a couple of years ago.  He was just back to Glasgow on a visit, but I was just so happy to see how well he looked...living in France obviously suits him!

Also at Ikea, I got some good ideas for a project I'm planning, I had cinnamon rolls and a vanilla milkshake, replaced a couple of bowls we'd broken, and got a set of steak knives, vanilla-scented tea-lights, plastic tubs for leftovers, and a really thick, sturdy canvas duffel bag that had been marked down to £5!

I also took a pot of loose change to the Coinstar machine, and walked away with £64.00!

Watching my formerly anorexic daughter eat a whole Chow Fun for lunch.
That'll never get old.

I'm sitting watching TV with my American Hubby and I mentioned that I just fancied a doughnut.  And he quietly got up and slipped out.  The nearest doughnut place is in the town near here.  I surely married the right man!  Happiness!  (of course, he may not have gone for a doughnut in which case you will hear me sobbing!)

My dog greeting me when I come home after a long day of work. She is so excited she can't contain it in her little body. Her bum wags at such a speed that I worry she's going to take flight. Even if I had the worst day I feel that I've ever had, I come in to see her happy face and it's like I've just made her entire existence by doing nothing but walking in the door and I feel 100000000 x's better!

YourTV is showing nothing but Bones all day. Makes having to clean the house so much more bearable.

A few happy things from me:

I found the perfect size tub for Weetabix, Ryvita crispbread and a sleeve of both DH's and my tea. As a bonus, they were at TK Maxx, so cheaper than usual! I've been stocking up.

I went to a workshop at Ikea yesterday and it was very random but fun. There were a handful of super pedantic people, so it was a bit of a train wreck, but no one got upset or frustrated, just argumentative. I just watched it unfold. When they weren't being nit picky, it was great conversation and a lot of fun. We made draft excluders and I made mine into an awesome snake (as did a few other people). The instructor said mine was the best. ;D

Before the workshop, I found a few pillows in the bargain corner at Ikea. I'd been considering buying them anyway, but these were a cushion plus the cover for cheaper than the cover alone. They looked in good condition and the covers are machine washable.

The weather is supposed to be amazing this week and there's another workshop at Ikea on Wednesday. I love working from home - flexible to go to stuff like the workshops or to just get out in the sun. 8)

Not heard of IKEA doing workshops before! That sounds interesting! Are they all craft-related? Do they happen often?
