I just did this, I hope I can help!  Have somone call a utility co. and just add your name to a bill. You don't have to be here when they do it, but it's residency.  You do have to appear to register & they took us in seperately & asked us the other's occupation & if we had been married before, a few simple personal questions.  And because I am 29 & never married....I was a SPINSTER on the paperwork!!

Oh - I hated seeing that word on my marriage certificate!  Argh!

Yep antiquated it may be but it still beats "previous marriage dissolved" if you ask me!

Do they put spinster down for everyone who is on their first marriage, or is it an age thing?
What do they put down for the men?

Spinster is any not-previously married female and Bachelor is for any not-previously married male.  Age doesn't matter.
