Intelligence test


OK lets have a small test for the spouses. You HAVE to do what is stated and no cheating by looking at the bottom of the posting first.  Steve, I said no looking first!!

This is a real test, not just something I came up with.

Now read the sentence below and count all the "F"'s in it.

The human brain has a problem processing the word "OF".  Strange, huh? Somebody who counted all six the first time is considered to be quite a clever individual (they used 'genius' but I am not sure about that).  If you counted three, that is considered to be quite normal.  If you counted less than three, well  

Actually, I have been using this for some years as an exercise in some management training that I do.  Although many people do count three as they are more aural than visual and so don't hear the 'F' in 'of', - my experience is that in a group of 12 or more, you will get people seeing 4 and 5 as well as 3 & 6.  So there is more going on here than just the 'of's.

As a finisher to the exercise it is worth remembering that there are actualy 27 'F's in that sentence - most people only get to a maximum of 6 though.

I guess I'm hopelesslly "normal," I counted 3 as well and tried 3 times too!

Try as I could though I was NOT able to find 27 F's...where are they Guru??
