I hate to say it but you are going to get here right when the weather gets miserable.

Do you normally get flu shots?  I’ve gotten in the habit since my client pays

Lol. I live in Buffalo NY. England has NOTHING on it, I've been there in November/January a few times. I'm allergic to flu shots but I'm crazy about hand washing and wearing a mask on public transit during flu season.

All right, I’ll admit Buffalo must be more miserable.  Does it get dark at 4:30?

5-ish, so it's dark a bit earlier and that will be an adjustment!

Haha you say that now, but you'll eventually hit a point where you start to forget how bad winter's were back home and you dread the impending seasonal changes and  the cold/damp that just cuts down to your bones.

......but it still beats proper shoveling! :D

That is so true. I used to live in Connecticut and Ohio... blizzard states. But then I moved to North Carolina and I have totally forgotten what that kind of cold is like.

It was just under 60 degrees yesterday and my new work mate made fun of how I was dressed.

Full length alpaca coat, cashmere scarf, rabbit fur lined leather gloves and I was still cold.

haha in Boston, I can remember mornings after a serious snow fall where we'd just be expected to shovel out and get to work with a slight delay at most. Now over here in the UK, a legitimate dusting that's less than a 1 inch high will cause massive delays/cancellations and everybody goes into a panic! Yet, to me, I've reached a point where the temperature feels just as bad over here (with the light dusting) as it did when I was getting 4 and 5+ feet of snow during a bad storm. I've become a total wimp with the cold! hahaha

This is legit how Raleigh handles 2.5 inches of snow. 2014. It shut down the city for DAYS!

I remember hearing about that and at first I was like "HOW?!?" but then I realised that they obviously weren't ready/equipped enough to deal with this weather as it wasn't really "the norm"...kind of the same as it is over here because there aren't really any plows or anything here for if it does snow (and I'm not even sure you can plow only an inch or two of snow...?)

We have snow plows and salt trucks but not enough. And they are pretty ineffective on snow covered ice.

And the country roads will shut down the schools for sometimes a week or even more. It is too dangerous for the buses to pick up the kids even though it only snowed an inch a week previously. It is the ice that kills us.

I'm craving a few random things right now (probably not all together):

1.) Apple cinnamon apples like the kind you get a Cracker Barrel

2.) A ruben and a really nice dill pickle spear

3.) Fish tacos

4.) A blondie

5.) Pimento stuffed olives
I've never gotten food on my underpants!
Work permit (2007) to British Citizen (2014)
You're stuck with me!

I’m almost afraid to ask....What’s a blondie?
