ARGH! That was the worst article ever! For some silly reason I focused on the fact that there's this 6-year-old boy is not only missing but may have fallen out of a balloon while it was flying through the sky, OMG, and then instead of telling us about the search or how worried sick his parents are, the author's like, "hey, check it out, kid's dad hunts for UFOs or something."

What about the poor 6-year-old boy?! His poor parents... I really hope he's found.  :(

He was found.  The little guy was hiding in the attic.

It was a hoax! His parents told him not to come out. What @ssholes.

That is exactly what I thought happened when I read the article.  I should be a detective.

Whoops. Time to pay back those search-and-rescue fees.

I'd prefer them to be @ssholes than parents that would keep a helium balloon around unsupervised. Glad the boy's safe.

I guess this falls under the category of "childhood fantasies that once come true, are not such a good idea." What kid hasn't imagined being taken away by the balloon tied to his wrist? I know the balloon in question wasn't a cheap latex party balloon, but still.

My dream of suddenly drifting up above my town didn't include floating into an international airport or colliding with a building. :o

I would prefer them not to whore out their kids for publicity. Waste money and man hours on a search. Screw with others' emotions. And also not make their kids lie for their sorry selves on television.

You know, while we're talking about what we'd prefer.

I agree. They are publicity seekers. First Wife Swap, now this.  ::)

I know I would have been pretty ticked if I found this out after sitting at Denver airport waiting watching my flight get cancelled.
