Before I post the link let me just state that my hubby works at Superdrug so if you decided to shop at Boots until the strike is over...well...

Do you have a preference of where we should shop until the Superdrug strike is finished?

Well Superdrug owns Savers...but Boots seems to have the same products/similar prices so this is where we've been shopping.

i usually go to Savers ... didn't realise they were owned by Superdrug. 99p shop it is then! Tesco & Sainsburys have some good deals on toiletries too.

Don't think I've heard of Savers... we must not have that one north of the border.

I didn't think I'd heard of them, but I just checked their website and I recognise the logo - we have a Savers in one of the malls here. They also have several stores in Scotland too, it seems (including five stores in Glasgow, according to the store locater) :).

Savers does exist in Scotland. We used to have one in St. Andrews, but they replaced it with a Superdrug- which costs twice as much for the same bloody stuff!  >:(

Wow, this is the first I had heard of their strike but then again I never shop at Superdrug. I'm a big Boots fan.

It doesn't sound like the strike is going well.

They Union had a meeting with the company yesterday and they got a lot of positive news.  The company has re-negotiated the terms of the contract and the employees will be voting on Monday as to whether or not they agree to the new terms.  Could be over by Tuesday!   ;D

Good news!  :)
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.
