I'm just finishing up the last online application for my youngest daughter who is 3 years old. I was told that children under 5 do not require biometrics. At the end of the application it is saying that biometrics are required to complete it, how do I bypass this? Do I just schedule an appointment and then cancel it? Thanks

It sounds like you have made an error on the application. Double check that you have listed her birthdate correctly as it should not be prompted for applicants under the age of 5. Also make sure that she is listed as the applicant and not you as this will also prompt the biometrics collection.

Will my children have to submit their biometrics?

Children aged 5 years and over need to have their finger scan and digital photograph taken. Children aged between 5 and 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Children under 5 years still have to submit their visa application in the normal way but they do not have to visit the visa application centre to have their digital photograph or finger scans taken.

I went back to the beginning to double check the application and it is correct...her name and correct date of birth. I'm not sure why it prompted for a biometrics appointment  Huh
I just scheduled one and will call and cancel it. It shouldn't be a problem I'm guessing as the stamped biometric paper is not required to be included with her application. Here's hoping...it seems they can deny you for one little mess up   Shocked
