Americans in scotland
« on: October 18, 2010, 12:31:18 AM »
Hi, are there any Americans in scotland?  My husband is from Miami and we would like to meet fellow Americans over here.  Also, what's everyone doing for thanksgiving?

I should be soon.  I'm getting married in a few weeks, and hope to be moved in with my OH before spring.  We'll be in the Western Isles, but should make it to the mainland at least a few times a year.

Where in Scotland are you located?

Hi!  Another one here!  :)  I've been here just over a year and I'm just outside Glasgow.  Welcome to the site!  :)

Dundee here.

Last week, I was in line at the bus station to catch the early bus to Edinburgh and started talking to the gal next to me... turned out she's from Chicago. Last month, I bought a filing cabinet off of Ebay from nearby Fife... when I went to pick it up, the guy was from New York. Can't escape all the Americans here! heheee

Thanksgiving will be in our home. Family, turkey, all the fixings, and lots of drink.  :P

Hi! I'm in Orkney, the northern islands of Scotland! Been here 3 years next week and loving it!  We're going out to eat with a group of friends on the Friday after Thanksgiving, so that will be our celebration, even though turkey's not on the menu.

I want to see Orkney. The furthest north I have gone is Ullapool. Guess it will have to wait until Spring or Summer 2011...

I'm in Scotland as well. My husband is from here, but has been living in the US with me for the past 4 years. I'm just outside of Glasgow.

Wish I were! I've been trying to organise a move for several years now, but the government keeps changing the rules!  >:(
