25%?! Sweet baby Jesus, I'm afraid to look... Felt like it was ridiculously expensive the first time around, as it was.

The fees for FLR(M) and ILR are currently approved to rise no higher than £3,250 per visa by 2020. I imagine they will get even higher after that.

When I joined the forum in January 2007, the fees were:
2-year spousal visa = £260
ILR (by post) after 2 years = £335
ILR (in person) after 2 years = £500
UK Citizenship after living in the UK 3 years = £200

Total from spousal visa to citizenship = £795 (postal ILR) or £960 (in-person ILR)

In April 2007, they increased to:
2-year spousal visa = £500
ILR (by post) after 2 years = £750
ILR (in-person) after 2 years = £950
UK Citizenship after living in the UK 3 years = £575

Total from spousal visa to citizenship = £1,825 (postal ILR) or £2,025 (in-person ILR)

Right now, in 2017, the fees are:
2.5-year Spousal visa + IHS = £2,064
2.5-year Spousal visa + IHS with priority = £2,615
2-5 year FLR(M) + IHS (by post) = £1,493
2-5 year FLR(M) + IHS (in person) = £2,083
ILR (by post) = £2,297
ILR (in-person) = £2,887
UK Citizenship = £1,282

Total from spousal visa to citizenship = £7,136 (postal application, no priority) or £8,867 (with priority/in person)

Really?  I thought the matte lipstick was just that... lipstick, but without any shine to it.  Is it more of a stain?

Well the one you apply with a wand (stay matte?) is probably similar to the Sephora one. I've used real lip stains and as awesome as my red sephora brand is... It's really just a matte liquid lippie that's long wearing. Stains are liquids that literally stain your lips. I've always thought them calling it a stain was a misnomer. Haha.

Swatches of the colours.

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

I guess my question is "when is enough enough?". Are they ever going to stop or are they just going to price people out of being able to afford it??
My, how time flies....

I got into a mini tiff with my mom Because I was moaning about the costs. And she goes well they have to pay all the people to process them, and if that was your job you're want a paycheck.

Fair enough but it's so expensive, and cuts into other life's wants/needs.

It's not cheap, but Sephora does ship here to the UK. I think they may even do free shipping if you buy enough.

I love their lip again too. I bought it in red. It doesn't last as long as I'd like though... maybe 4-5 hours? And reapply doesn't go well. Haha. My Burts Bees takes it off...

I've been wanting to try that matte Rimmel London lip stuff. It looks like it might be comparable. It has really good reviews!

My husband's old boss would do this. It cost her a mini fortune but she was so hooked on a particular brand.

I have some of the new matte rimmel stuff, it stays in ages but it makes my lips feel really dry. Though, I'm not a big matte fan in myself, my lips are to small

I'd want a paycheck for sure, but I wouldn't expect a guaranteed pay-rise every year until I retired lol

The costs go up but the level of service goes down, so like the train companies, I'd say the vast increases aren't justified.  But they want fewer immigrants and this is probably a good way to make that happen :(

When it comes to lip stains I've heard Kat von D is similar and her liquid lipstick is sold at Debenham's.  I haven't tried it yet but I will before doing a huge sephora order to ship over here.  Luckily I go through makeup kind of slowly so I'm still ok.

Agreed. It's not really me that I feel bad for. It's in the years to come when it's younger, less established people that will have a hard time parting with that money all in one go even if they are fine supporting themselves on a monthly basis.

I mean, I agree, but I feel a little bad for me  ;)

You need a do-over.  Maybe go to bed, and then get out of it like it's the morning.  Try again. :)
