Cat litterbox Furniture
« on: July 14, 2011, 11:49:29 PM »
I bought a cabinet to house our cats' litter box in, and I wasn't sure if it was something we should bring with us or if we could find the equivalent there. Here's what ours looks like:

I've been searching on Google, but the only sites I've found are US-based, and I don't even want to imagine what it would cost to ship it there. Whereas, the one we already own could be sent with our other property. Since we aren't going to have a utility room, or much extra room and the cabinet helps the litter box be not quite so obvious.

I have been looking for something like this for years and never seen anything in the UK like that. You can do an Ikea Hack on one of their pieces, but if you can bring one like this, I would do so. Colour me jealous.

There's also a lot of ideas here:

We just did a less elegant hack when we had our cat's box in our room (was unavoidable at the time).  We used a Ikea PC tower stand, fitted a curtain, and it worked pretty well.  I'd have to wash the curtain every few weeks.  There are some really cool ideas on that site though.

I've never had an Ikea close enough to me to even know what kind of stuff they carry, more or less heard of 'Ikea hack'! There were some pretty nifty ideas there. I guess that settles the question of whether we should bring it. Maybe I need to take some woodworking lessons and start marketing these babies over there!  ;D

Or you can always do this and sod the litterbox:

Teaching cats how to use the toilet.

lol we had a cat that used to wee in the toilet, but unfortunately some times he used to fall in head first and we would have to fish him out lol, other times he used to like to drink out of it which was a hazard because we use toilet blocks lol, so in the end we had to shut the toilet door when he was in lmao x :)
