Aillidh Kinnaird and a UKY donation
« on: July 17, 2012, 02:59:53 PM »
As many of you are aware, a long-time former member of UKY, Expat in Scotland (Leigh) lost her oldest daughter to leukemia recently.

While Leigh is no longer a member, her journey was followed closely by many current UKY members.

Little Aillidh was laid to rest this past Saturday and many of us at UKY would like to show our support.

Leah, the UKY site owner, is donating £50 to one of Leigh's chosen charities at the end of July. I'm not sure at the moment which one Leah will chose but Leigh's choices are:

http://www.aclt.org/
http://leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk/

If you would like to contribute to the UKY donation, please let us know here and we will sort out how that can happen. Otherwise, we encourage those who can to make their own donation via the various charity web sites above.

Also, if anyone would like to send a card, we could organize that. I don't think Leigh would like to have her address made public or given out via this site, but we could organize a way to get them to her if there is any interest.

Thanks so much!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
