Home boarding for dogs
« on: September 22, 2013, 02:41:27 PM »
Can anybody recommend a home boarding or kennel boarding? I feel my dog is better off staying in a home instead of a kennel. I will move to Marylebone next week from Atlanta. I'm looking to board my dog for a few days when I need to travel. Any recommendation? Thank you.

Hey there!

We have begun using the service "Barking Mad" for our German Shepherd and we LOVE it! I recommend finding the one closest to you and using them as they will make sure your dog is boarded in a loving home. I cannot vouch for them enough.

Website:

http://www.barkingmad.uk.com/

Find the closest franchise to you and give them a call. They will come and meet you and your dog first, do an evaluation (GBP30 it cost for us) and then they will book a "trial" which 50% will go towards your next booking (if you decide to continue using them). There are transit fees (17.5/each way), but all in all we thought they were reasonable at GBP20/Day for the home boarding versus other kennels/options. Not to mention the dogs are really well cared for and tended to. Feel free to ask any other questions about them. Good luck!

I've always used VIP (http://www.veryimportantpets.co.uk/) and have found them to be amazing -- even with my um...challenging nutter of a dog!
