Glad to see you have prioritised beer over laundry as it looks like nobody is getting to that washing machine.
Is that the fancy automatic one you showed us?  Have you paired it with your phone?

What are you making?  Does the machine allow you to make something you couldn’t do before?  Another smokey porter?

Smokey porter will be on the rotation again soon as we've run out and we're sad because we liked it a lot

This was a 'Ghost Ship' clone in this picture
Next up, a 'Trappist'  patersbier style

It just gives me much more control - you can do all kinds of stages and steps now so you can really control the sugars and flavours.  Well that's the theory. I have to play and learn and see what I get!

Ghost ship clone has finished fermenting and onto conditioning.

Trappist'  patersbier is now in fermentation.

I've got ingredients for a single hopped IPA or a 60 minute IPA. Hmmm.
Looking to make a Bitter or British style pale ale soon.  Hopefully buy off the pumpkins cheap (they went for £.01 and £.02 and even free after Halloween last year) and make a pumpkin beer.

Ghost ship clone is amazing, I must say.

Haven't had any time for making anything else, boo. But I have ingredients to the ready, which at this stage will probably be after Christmas.

What's ghost ship?  Is it brewed in a special way that takes advantage of your fancy beer making machine?

I got a keg from my husband for Christmas, which is epic! Bottling sucks and well who doesn't want draft beer available?
Whee!

Draft beer in the house at all times?  What could go wrong?

Put on two wine kits on Monday - Sauviguan Blanc and  Viuex Chateau du Roi  - Been a while since I did wine, but good to mix it up  :)

Next up for beer is a Two Hearted American IPA clone or a Hefeweizen. Have ingredients for both ,but not sure which one I want to do next  :)

In a country where such things were banned ........

I can remember going over to a friend's house and she told me she had made some wine and asked me if I wanted a drink.  She then produced an open metal bucket which had a disgusting looking substance in it.  There was thick foam on top and she proudly said that she had put it down two weeks ago.  Dipping a glass into the bucket she handed me some of the liquid which was murky to say the least.  And the smell!  The smell was beyond evil smelling.

As I wanted to keep the enamel on my teeth I declined and watched in amazement as she settled down to a glass.

My elderflower wine is on day 6 in its fermentation bin, and the recipe I used (River Cottage) says day 6 is when you bottle it. I'm not sure if it's ready, but I guess I'll stick to the the recipe and do it tomorrow.

I watched loads of YouTube videos about it today, but it's only made me more confused as they're all telling me different things!

I forgot to take the OG...is there any way to tell the alcohol content if I haven't done that?
