I received my visa on Friday! We are over the moon and I'll be flying on April 13th! I'm not sure how to actually do the timeline like everyone else has done below, but here is how long it took for us:

Met: October 2013
Started relationship: January 2014
Engaged: February 2015
Online Application Completed: February 27, 2016
Biometrics completed: March 4, 2015
Package sent to Sheffield (2 day express Int'l): March 11, 2015
Application being processed: March 19, 2015
Email to re-send two passport photos: March 19,2015
Decision made email: March 25, 2015
Visa Approved and received via UPS: March 27, 2015
Flights Booked: April 13, 2015

Hey there! We did not use it. If we could do it again we probably would have, just because even waiting a few days was VERY stressful.

Has anyone recently submitted or received their ILR(Set M) visa? Wanting to know if it really is going to take 6 months or is it sooner. I haven't seen anything to up-to-date. I sent mine in on 28th of Jan and have done my bio-metrics, now just waiting. I have to travel in April for my job and have now requested my passport back b/c I can't wait any longer. Has anyone done that before? Requested a document back? Many thanks for any help. Congrats to all those who have gotten their's and prayers for those of us waiting.

Last I heard, it was taking around 5 months for ILR, but not sure if this is still the case (that was back at the end of last year).

However, requesting your passport back will cancel your entire application and your ILR will no longer be processed! If you want your ILR and if you can, I would contact them ASAP and cancel the request to get the passport back.

We have a very similar timeline to you, it actually arrived on the 8th March into Sheffield. Received the email confirming they received it (on the 8th) and then we have not heard anything since.

Thanks for your help ksand24! I cancelled the request right away! I have gotten my ILR back and now waiting on my biometrics card to be sent out  It took mine 8 weeks to process from the time they sent me my confirmation email to postmark when it was sent back. It was sitting at our post office over Easter b/c we thought it was something else and not my all important VISA confirmation!  I never received the email that a decision was made, not sure if they just don't do that for the ILR or they overlooked doing it. Anywho, thank you to everyone as I tend to have read more than I posted. Good Luck!
