So, we find out today. Freaking myself out a little :/ know we provided lots of everything they asked for, but reading about failed applications and wondering if there's aanything we left out. Know its a tick box application, so.hopefully we ticked all of them.

We still haven't heard anything back, and Sheffield have had my priority application for over 4 weeks now and we sent it over 5 weeks ago (that being said, we did have to give them additional documentation at their request). My British husband, who is now getting quite anxious, is considering writing to the VisaSheffield email to our entry clearance officer to see if they can give any update. Is this advisable or no? My guess is it will be a useless endeavour, but I want to make sure it won't actually hurt our application to put a bit of pressure on them. Any advice?

about changing address
« Reply #682 on: August 14, 2014, 04:26:04 PM »
Hi I currently am holding a spouse visa.
For work I am thinking of changing my address whilst my wife stil stays at her old address. We are still together and I will be applying for ILR this January 2015. My question is if we show different address to each other will it be a problem when I apply?

I would not recommend this approach. I have seen people rejected for doing this, even for work. The Visa office will have cause to question whether your relationship is subsisting (and/or will continue to subsist) if you do not share the same residence.

Is it possible for you to keep your main residence with your wife? I know people who commute for work all the time and stay several days per week in another city, but keep their residence with their spouse and receive all their post and bills there, etc.

Since no one replied yet to my above post, my husband went ahead and sent the email and addressed it to our entry clearance officer. I helped him tone it down from something that was initially quite angry (in a British way, ha!) to something much more polite. He did mention that he would contact his MP about it, but would prefer to reach resolution in another way.

Minxy, my fingers are crossed hoping you hear something good soon.  Sitting around feeling helpless while waiting for "who knows what" is awful!  :-\\\\

Will let you know when we hear any news.

We are on the same timeline as you, 3 weeks since paperwork arrived in Sheffield.

I know there is not much sense in all this, but I don't understand why some people who have applied for the same visa ( spouse from USA) who upgraded to priority after our priority application arrived, are getting a decision, when we haven't?
Very happy for them, but it's curious - does upgrading after sending your paperwork put you higher in the queue than other priority apps already in ?
