Any updates from recent applicants?

What I did find strange was my tracking package details, it says 1.1lb is in transit, whereas we sent 6.4lb's

In addition to what TravelingFrog said above, if you sent 6.4 pounds, you sent way too much.

They only send back your passport and any originals of which you provided copies.  Everything else is kept.  Still, 1.1lbs is quite a lot for a return and 6.4 lbs is crazy!!  Hope it is good news!

Just got back my visa - approved! Leaving for London asap. Thank you all for the support and advice

My spouse visa just arrived.  I'm so happy this process is over and I can make plans to start my life in the UK. Now, I'm off to book tickets!

October 16th - i (sponsor) sent out application to sheffield via royal mail sd (from uk address)

October 17th - package was delivered

October 22nd - notification that package was received by UKBA

October 24th - decision made!!

october 27th - VISA RECEIVED!!

Wow, it sounds like priority applications are being processed super fast right now! Does anyone have a current timeline on non-priority? I'm going to be applying in December, with a (hoping for) scheduled departure at the end of February...it sounds like priority may not be worth the extra money then?

I'm really hoping to use my miles for tickets and I can get super cheap fares with miles through the end of February. The extra $500 for priority is definitely cheaper than the cost of a ticket, but if I don't have to pay that, I'd prefer not to!

Be sure you don't buy your ticket before getting your visa and checking it for errors (a recommendation from UKVI that we suggest on the forum, too). Even if visas are processed quickly now or if you purchase priority, the processing times can change quickly and there's no promise you'll get your visa in any time frame. Best to wait until you've got your visa in hand to book your flight.
