Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship -- processing times?

I am currently in the UK on a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme.  My employer is currently panning on switching me over to Tier 2 General scheme.  Unfortunately, they cannot apply for the certificate until 11 June or so.  Once they've applied, how long does it take for them to get that certificate of sponsorship reference number?  My current visa expires on 1 June and I have to go back to Canada to apply for a Tier 2, but I will need that reference number to apply.

I believe it can take up to a few weeks, so you will need to leave the UK by June 1st at the very latest and then just wait in Canada until your Certificate of Sponsorship has been issued and you can apply for the Tier 2.

Essentially, yes. I seem to remember some people having to wait around 4 weeks for theirs, but then I have a feeling that it may have taken longer in some cases and could take up to about 2 months.

I think it really depends on how on the ball the company is, how quickly they get their paperwork sorted, and then how long it's taking UKBA to issue them.
