Spousal visa photo?
« on: April 20, 2014, 07:20:29 PM »
Hi,
Do I need to supply the photo for the Visa application or is it the one taken at my Biometrics appointment?
Thanks

Yes, you must include a separate photograph. The one you provide yourself is the one that is used for the visa, not the biometrics photo.

It says in the guidance  that the photo must be 35 x 45 mm, however, there should not be any problem with using a regular 2 inch x 2 inch US-sized photo if you can't get a UK-sized one done.

Not sure if this is correct but I thought I read that 2 photos must be included.

Yes, you must supply 2 passport sized photographs when submitting your application which are for the visa itself, IN ADDITION TO the photo they take at your biometrics appointment which is digital information that is sent along with your fingerprints to the border agency.

Yes, that's correct; 2 photos are required.

I was just referring to the fact that the biometrics photo is not used for the actual visa - you need to supply your own.

When I applied, I used a standard passport photo which I had taken and printed out at a drugstore in Boston, and there was no problem. I even put a couple extra copies in with my application (just in case!) and they sent them back to me.

You are correct Mrs. Roberts and also one of your spouse. I'm getting ready to apply for my ILR and that is the instructions on my visa application. :D

You don't actually need a passport photo of your spouse for the initial fiance or spousal visa application (which is what is being discussed in this thread), but you do need one for FLR(M) and ILR, so it's something to be aware of for future applications.

I'm freaking out a little here. I was led to believe that just one photo was required, and that's all I sent.

I think I did read that someplace too, they keep one for their records or just in case lol!
Ben1989, try not to freak out, I'm sure if they need an additional they will just ask, not deny your fiancé because of it. I read someone who only submitted 3 months of financials and they emailed her asking for the additional 3 months.

I'm praying that is the case, especially after paying $510 today on priority, to then be refused over one missing photo

Hopefully it'll be fine!

I've emailed them anyway, stating we found a loose one (insinuating one may have fallen out). I asked if they could check and to then be given the opportunity to over-night new ones!!

I cant wait to this whole thing is over with (for 30 months at least)
