Holy smokes castabear, that's ridiculously fast. Congrats!

I submitted 18/12 and am still waiting (which I know is nothing compared to the timescales that were going earlier in the year).

Hang in there Teuchtar and beatlescowgirl. I hope you get your approval letter soon!

My DH just phoned me at work to let me know that his approval letter came today...woo hoo!

So, just about a month from start to finish (and that included the Xmas and New Year holidays).

Good luck to everyone else who is waiting, I don't think you'll be waiting too long :)

Yes the process is pretty speedy at the minute. I got my documents and approval letter back in the regular post in just over 2 weeks.

Date Application Mailed: 12/1
Date of receipt by UKBA: 13/1
Payment Taken: 20/1
Email acknowledgement of receipt: 21/1
Documents returned and approval letter: 28/1

*sorry, the dates on my previous timeline didn't match the days. The dates are correct.

Congrats, guys.

Still nothing for me. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. (Life has just been incredibly crummy lately, so this is just salt on the wound  :-\\\\)

edited to clarify: NOT meaning that you guys getting approved is the salt in my metaphor, just the waiting in general and coming home to no post.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, received!  You're right, it was too early to really worry (as I can see over on the immigrationboards that there are people from spring/summer still waiting), but I think it was just compounded by how terrible the past month has been anyways that the waiting was getting to me.

Date of Application: Thu 18/12 (NCS Hammersmith)
Date of receipt by UKBA: Fri 19/12
Date of debit of fees: Mon 29/12 (per online banking figures; cleared 30/12)
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: Mon 05/01 (dated 29/12)
Date of receipt of approval: Fri 30/1 (dated Wed 21/1)
Date of ceremony: ...

Congrats!

I think I've beaten your record :p

I wonder if they are speeding up because they are working weekends? Your approval was dated 17th Jan which was a Saturday, as was mine, and my payment was also taken on Saturday

NCS Harrow mailed: Mon Jan 12th
Received by HO: Tue Jan 13th
Payment taken: Sat Jan 17th (that's how it is dated on my statement)
Date of approval: Sat Jan 24th
(Application receipt received: Sat Jan 24th)
(Approval letter received: Fri Jan 30th)

11 days for decision, total waiting time 18 days.

I'm actually on my way to the US now but my wife opened the letters. I'll need to book my ceremony before I return to the UK!
