Just did my NCS this morning, UKBA should receive my application on Tuesday! Still feeling a bit dazed.
It is difficult to speak adequately, or justly, of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent... the biggest aggregation of human life, the most complete compendium in the world.

I'm still a bit overwhelmed by the entire process and can't quite believe that I've done something that would have only been possible in the movies when I was a little kid.

May not be a big deal to some, but even at the ripe (not so) old age of 67, it's a big deal to me.
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!

Okay, a little reassurance needed, please!

I did NCS on Nov 4th. Package was signed for first thing in the morning on Nov 6th. As of today, Nov 24, the fee has not been taken from our account. That's 17 business days. DH is trying to tell me to be patient, I think it's time to email UKVI and see if I can get an update.

Thoughts? I go to sleep at night with visions of my application sitting on the floor under some receptionist's desk somewhere...

Well, so much for being patient! I just sent an email to the enquiries email address provided by the NCS, and got an instant reply form letter stating that I "would not be getting any further responses" and that:

"It is currently taking 6 weeks to acknowledge all applications."

I guess I sit back and wait.   :(

Thank you for that little glimmer of hope!! Know it sounds crazy, but it's hard for 'regular' people to understand when you say your entire life is in the hands of whoever is holding that application!

DH used to work in banking, he watches the account activity obsessively. Nothing yet! But I am glad to know we are waiting together.

All of us who have gone through the process understand how you feel. Being in limbo is never pleasant.

There's also a telephone number - but you may not get anything other than the bog-standard responses. Might be worth a try though.

Telephone: 0300 123 2253
Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm
Friday, 9am to 4.30pm

Update - I now have a passport!! It's a fantastic feeling and I can't quite take it in.

For those of you still waiting, just look forward - the wait is sooooooo hard, but your turn will come!

Congrats Vadio! What an amazing feeling that must be!

Teezees, nothing yet, checked the account after dinner tonight, but just knowing I am not the only one who is waiting so long really helps - I am just sure it will be any day now!

How funny to be sitting here WISHING the Home Office would just take my £906???
