My application was received yesterday! I already feel anxious.
It is difficult to speak adequately, or justly, of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent... the biggest aggregation of human life, the most complete compendium in the world.

I have my NCS appointment on 18/12, and I'm getting stupidly nervous about the turnaround time between submitting and when they open the bloody package/do the date check.  I mean, they're not going to wait a couple weeks and then in January check to see if I was in the country 5 years previous on that random day...?  Or are they...  :-X

Congrats to all who have received their citizenships! Hang in there to all those who are still waiting!

The good news is-- I just got mine in a month!

I applied on November 3rd at NCS Edinburgh.
I'm not sure when they received it as the tracking # given to me was incorrect.
Received notice by post and email on November 21st that they received my application and will be taking funds from bank account.
Received Citizenship Invitation on December 4th by post.

That was super fast!  I would have been happy receiving it by March.

I also wanted to say I looked at immigration boards and their timelines. It does seem to be going quickly. I averaged that most people were between 15-20 days of approval after receiving their acknowledgement of receipt.

So hopefully that holds out. Fingers crossed anyway.

That's fantastic!!

I'm impressed with the speed of approvals right now - wish mine had been that fast. But, we get there in the end and that's all that matters!
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!
