Passport Photo Sizes
« on: July 21, 2014, 09:57:56 PM »
I know the guidance says 45mm x 35mm for the passport photo but has anyone ever had standard U.S.A sizes rejected? This is for the UK spouse visa that my wife is applying for.

She had a couple taken at Wallgreens and they are 2inches x 2inches?

I have searched the forum and I've seen people say that this is no problem and 2x2 is perfectly fine, but is this still the case as on 2014? These posts were back in 2008.

Thanks for any info

Yes, it's still fine in 2014.

If you don't have 35x45mm size photos, just send 2x2inch US size ones instead.

Just be aware that this trick doesn't work the other way round: you cannot use UK photo sizes for any application involving the US (e.g. passport, visa etc.)

Yes, that's very true, MalcolmB. I have applied for 4 US visas now and each time, I had to get the passport photos done specifically to US sizes... I think that size is more readily available now in the UK than itused to be, but a few years ago, it cost me £12 for just 2 photos!

We got our son's US photos taken at Max Speilman - they were originally not the right size but they did them again for free, and they were very good at getting a toddler to sit still for a photo.
We trimmed the Walgreen photos to size for both kids' visa forms.
