Hi all - I just found out my debit card number has somehow gotten stolen. My brother suggested that I may ought to put a fraud alert on my credit in case my identity has been stolen. Has anyone experienced this while trying to apply for my visa? Will it make a difference?
I'm really annoyed because we are a couple of weeks away from sending in the application, and now on top of that stress, I gotta worry that someone stole my identity.
Does anyone have any advice?
It doesn't cost a thing to treat others with kindness.

Someone stealing your debit card won't have any effect unless it significantly decreases the amount of money in your bank account. Putting a warning on your credit reports will have no effect. UK Visas doesn't check your credit reports.

The only thing I can think that it might affect is paying for your visa. Can you put the payment on a different card? That will hedge any bets of your payment being declined because they think it is a fraudulent payment..?
