Uk Spouse visa for US citizen

Hi all. just reading through some of these topics I have heard people chatting about where to send off a spouse visa application. My wife is in the USA and will be completing her application soon. I will be mailing my evidence off to her shortly.

My question is where would my wife mail it to as she is in the USA and will be applying from there? Mailing her application to Sheffield in the UK just does not seem correct, I would of thought she would send it off to an embassy in the states.

No, she must send it to Sheffield in the UK.

Settlement visas (I.e. Spousal visas) are now processed in Sheffield, while all other visa types are processed in New York.

Whatever she does, she must not send it to New York, because they will just send it right back to her and tell her to send it to Sheffield.

Definitely send it to Sheffield.  When I filled out my online application for my spousal visa at the end of August, some parts told me to send it to Sheffield, other parts were still labeled New York.  SEND IT TO SHEFFIELD!  Hopefully they have fixed some of the issues with the site by now (one can hope).  One member of this forum sent her app to New York by mistake earlier this year and it took them almost a month to return it to her with directions to send it to Sheffield.  Good luck!
