Bank statements - 28 day rule?
« on: November 18, 2014, 01:07:09 AM »
Ok, so I read somewhere on here that the bank statements need to be dated within 28 days. However, my DF gets his sent in the mail, so he just went into his files and pulled the last 5 months' worth (we'll send with the December one that comes next month). These are obviously not dated within 28 days since they are originals (not copies), does he still need to take them into the bank and have them stamped off before he comes here in 2 weeks? Or will UKVI be able to tell somehow that they are the originals that were mailed to him?

Banks don't seem to stamp and date anymore. The originals will be fine as long as he is supplying the latest that has been sent out to him.

It's only the most recent pay slip and bank statement that can be no more than 28 days old at the time of application.  That means that that particular statement can be dated no more than 28 days before your online application.  As long as he receives his statements via post, they are originals and there is no need to have them stamped or otherwise verified by his bank.

Thank you both! He comes out next week for the wedding and I'm trying to make sure we have all of our ducks in a row for the documentation before he leaves!
