« on: December 08, 2014, 05:36:23 PM »
Hi all just wanted to know others experience on how long it has taken recently for a visa from point of application to received for Australia..??

I applied online on Friday night....my biometric scans are on the 17th December. Any ideas on wait times greatly appreciated.

We are hoping to head to the UK first week of March....but don't want to book plane tickets till we recieve the visa! Fingers crossed we do recieve the visa.

I don't think anyone on here has applied for a visa from Australia.

Pretty much everyone here at UK-Y has applied from the US (or from within the UK), as it's a forum dedicated primarily to US to UK migration.

So, while we can help with the basic visa and document requirements, we don't have much information about applying from other countries or processing times in those countries.

You can check the most recent UKVI-published processing times for spousal visa applications made in Australia here though:

Try your question on this forum:

http://britishexpats.com/forum/citizenship-passports-spouse-family-visas-uk-196/

A lot of folk from Australia post there, and someone will likely be able to answer.
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!
