Advice please
« on: April 23, 2015, 05:20:06 PM »
I'm an American citizen and have lived in the UK for 12 years, I am now a permanent resident here.

My mother and father live in the states and are wanting to move to the UK, my dad took a brain aneurism almost a year ago and is now partially disabled, they have no family in the states and my mom is desperately needing help and just want to change their life's, the are both close to 60.

My dad obviously needs medical care but this has nothing to do with coming to the UK for free health care, they wouldn't get it anyway, it's just desperate times for them and I feel so hopeless not being able to help all I can.

My question is can I bring my mom and dad to live here, temp at first with a possibility of it being permanent? And what would I have to do?

I really have no idea and any advice would be much appreciated.

The short story is that it is not possible and you may need to consider returning to the U.S.

There is a route but it is rarely granted and would not be possible coming from a first world country.
