Spouse's income on financial form
« on: September 30, 2015, 03:33:13 PM »
Hello all! I hope everyone is having a great week.

My husband and I are getting closer to finally getting this application completed!! I just wanted to send out a quick thanks to everyone! I appreciate the help so much.

Ok, so I have a question about my husband's income, which is the income we're putting on the application. He is starting a PhD at the University of York, receiving a studentship. That studentship is going to be the biggest chunk of our income. I have a question about the financial form, the separate document from the online application.

There are different options for categorizing income. Would his studentship count as "salaried employment" or should it go under "non-employment sources"?

Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

Academic stipends are considered under Category C: Non-Employment Income.

If you read through the information about category C in Annex FM 1.7 it will tell you exactly how he can meet the requirement with his studentship and what documents he needs to send for it.
