If your timeline is anything like mine, you'll probably get a notification tomorrow that your passport is being dispatched, and you'll get it via post the day after that.

DH had to renew his passport.  He got his old passport back with a letter that they were processing the application.  A mere two days later, he received his new passport.  So they definitely seem to be processing them quite swiftly these days.

(meanwhile, I've been waiting weeks for my provisional license...grrr)

Congrats! My husband had his interview late on thursday and it arrived today. Glad they posted it through the letterbox as we weren't in! Hopefully yours will be here in a couple of days too! :)

Who are you ringing to set up the interview ahead of time? Passport advice??
I am a North Carolina girl born and raised, yes I love sweet iced tea, Texas Pete and biscuits and gravy....but England is where my soul feels at peace and I can't wait to get there.

Posted this into the wrong topic yesterday....

Application sent via recorded delivery to Peterborough - 06/06/2016
Application signed for in Peterborough - 07/06/2016
Text from passport people saying application has been received - 08/06/2016

I tried to do check and send, but the person at the Post Office was unimpressed with the quality of biro I used, he wouldn't approve (the tail end of the vertical bars on a upper case 'E' were fading out, you know, like if you were lifting a pen off a piece of paper). So, I just sent it off as normal.  Hope he wasn't correct!  I've had run-ins with him in the past.  He's a bit of a stickler for the rules, but whenever I've ignored him in the past on such things, I've always been proven correct.

Glad you got the letter for the interview. I wouldn't pay attention to the post office employee, there's always that one person who takes the rules too seriously without using common sense! I had a problem completing my husband's forms with regards to the grandparents information, the person at the passport office made it sound like the end of the world. Seems like common sense has prevailed yet again and you saved some money too! I didn't bother using check and send as I am now very experienced in filling out forms after two citizenships in our family lol. Passport arrived with no problems.
Hope all goes smoothly with the interview!
