Hopefully they will manage to clear the backlog soon and we'll get a rush of decisions in a short space of time (as has happened in the past) - fingers crossed.

I got an email saying it had been received today! I'm hoping it's good news and won't be too long!
Met husband: June 2011 (US)
Studied in U.K.: 2012-2015
Engaged: January 2013
Married: December 29th 2015 (UK)

Email to say visa application received: September 20th, 2016
Visa approved!: October 25th, 2016
Arrived (again) in the UK: November 22nd, 2016

Glad you got the email :). It won't be any kind of news yet though - that's just an automated email saying they have opened it and logged into the system.

Fingers crossed it will be processed soon :).

Hey everyone!

Just giving an update:

Met online --4 years ago
First met in person - May 24, 2015 (in Jamaica)
Married in Jamaica: May 14, 2016. (Came directly back to the US from Jamaica. He went to the UK.)
Docs received at Sheffield:  August 1, 2016 (according to UPS Tracking)
Received confirmation email: September 21, 2016

We started working on the 12 week timeline for our sanity. It is helping.  The stress and anxiety of it all has both my husband and I having physical ailments.  As a therapist, I encourage everyone (including myself) to self-care. This is a stressful and anxious time, and that can take a toll.  Laugh a lot, eat well, get plenty of sleep, exercise, drink water, grant yourself (and your spouses) some grace, and give love and light.  It is good for us all. :)

Hang in there!

What are we thinking is the average waiting time from receiving the "we have received your application" email?
10 working days? I think that will be my next 'lets hope' date which means Friday for me...
or is realistically going to be 3-4 weeks :( they better be doing overtime!
It would be awesome if you got a "you are xx in the queue" email. I could be next in line or i could be behind 20 people just cant tell...frustrating!

Priority or non-priority?

Priority is taking about 5 weeks from the date of receipt at the moment (not the date of the email).

Non-priority, no one knows.  We have several members from June who have still not had a decision made on their visas.  They are well past 60/70 business days from this point.  There is a single applicant from early July that has received their visa, I believe after 63 business days.

It's a tough year if non-priority.   :-\\\\

Priority, i seen how long people were waiting and opted to pay the fee for the quicker turn around, applying in the summer is a pain!
It will be 5 weeks this Wednesday when they received the application...ill take what you said with a pinch of salt and not get to excited for Wednesday, but i can always hope. We are all getting there day by day one day closer.

Smart move!  With a bit of luck, you'll hear this week.  Hopefully worst case is next week.   :D
