Best airline for unaccompanied animals?
« on: September 06, 2016, 11:33:47 PM »
My husband didn't think to check before booking my flight if the pets could go with the same airline. And of course they can't. I've been trying desperately to get this figured out, but every airline just says to call...because getting ahold of people over the phone is so simple. Anyway, just wondering what the best airline is for an unaccompanied pet.

I used a pet shipping company (Air Animal) and my cats flew BA.  As the animals can only fly cargo, there are only a few airlines that will allow you to book directly and not use a pet shipper.  I think Virgin allows you to book direct.

Virgin does allow direct booking and that's who we've always used (which is a total of four trips now). They've also always flown unaccompanied as we prefer to have them out of the way during the chaos of moving!

We've not had a bad experience with Virgin, but you do have to call them to book.
