Hey all,
For anyone who is actively looking for answers on timelines and current processing times I wanted to throw out my experience to everyone who has recently applied for a Spousal Settlement Visa.
Biometrics taken August 10th
Application sent in full August 10th
Application received in Sheffield August 15th
Decision made September 15th
Documents and Passport received September 19th
It was about a 5 week wait in total after having paid for Priority Processing. My single mistake was not writing FOR PRIORITY PROCESSING on the envelope which may have delayed their decision by about a week or so.
I called and checked about 10 days after my app was received and they had opened it by then and sent my docs to the priority pile.
Overall it was not unbearable nor was it a lengthy wait time if all your ducks are in a row. I doubled checked and triple checked all documents before sending off and had no problems with any documentation.
I made copies of all originals, but both originals and copies were sent back to me. Nothing was kept by the Sheffield office other than my application, biometrics receipt, and my IHS printout showing I had paid my health surcharge.
I want to personally thank KSands24 (I hope you end up reading this) for all of her help. Without her, and really every active user on this forum, I would not have been successful in applying to be here. And now that I'm with my wife we can truly begin our marriage and life together.
Thank you to everyone that has helped me in this journey, and good luck to everyone taking on the challenge of obtaining your visa. Nowadays governments aren't keen to let people move willy nilly wherever they want to, but with enough patience and persistence anything is achievable.
Cheers and all the best,
Tyler
