Maternity prescription exemption - processing times
« on: October 18, 2016, 05:43:09 PM »
Any idea how long the NHS is currently taking to process applications from pregnant women for a prescription exemption?

DW sent off the form in July, had no response for 2 months, so got another one and just sent that off (used recorded delivery this time just to be safe). Just wondering how long we should allow before trying to chase again ... or even how to chase since they don't publish a phone number or email address ...

Congratulations :).

According to the NHS website, it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks from them receiving your application (http://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/1644.aspx):

Q. How long will it take for my certificate to arrive?

A. You should expect to receive your certificate within 10 working days of us receiving your application.

Are you collecting the receipt FP57 when you pay so you can claim back the charges?
