Who's seen I, Danial Blake
« on: October 24, 2016, 10:44:38 AM »
No Spoilers!

I saw this on Saturday night.  It was generally a good movie, even if a little depressing.

One thing that pissed me off was they made a big deal out of the fact that it was an American company that had been contracted to do the assessments.  Of course, the faceless, heartless lead beuracrat was the only person in the movie with a huge American accent.  I've got news for you British People, the Americans are not responsible for the way your government treats benefit claimants.  You can blame Tony Blair and the Tories , but it's your own decision.

Really, I was looking for homeless people to give a hug to but they all ran away.

Guys,

'I, Daniel Blake' is now on Amazon Prime Video, and I highly recommend it.
I just watched it again, and sat sobbing my eyes out for 10 minutes afterward... be warned!

There is terrible, fetid neo Feudalistic component to it.
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC
