Issuing office on VAF4A online form
« on: October 28, 2016, 05:08:21 AM »
*quick edit. I meant Visa4UK not VAF4A. Sorry!

Hello everyone,
Just had my biometrics today and am ready to submit everything but I've just looked at my online application and it's saying that the issuing office is the British Consulate General New York?! What?! Isn't it supposed to be Sheffield? My shipping labels are to Sheffield and everything else is going to Sheffield so I'm really nervous that this is being mentioned here....
Is this correct? Have I made a huge mistake? Panicking ahh!

I'm by no means an expert on this, but it said the same on my form, and after some intense Googling, I found out that it's normal for the form to say that (just another weird, confusing part of the process to make us paranoid). Hope your biometrics went well!

Well you've got the correct visa type and payment amount so I think it's just an admin thing... It's probably that New York is considered the main admin hub for UKVI in the US, even though settlement visas are processed in Sheffield now (until about 3 years ago settlement visas were processed in New York too).
