ILR - coming back to the UK
« on: November 15, 2016, 03:16:54 AM »
I was unsure of which category this falls under. I have ILR in the U.K. which I obtained in 2014.

I returned to the USA in May 2016 to spend the summer with family and have decided to stay through to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas. I intend to return to the U.K. the first week of January. Since it will have been 8 months out of the country I was wondering if I would be facing any issues at the border upon my return.

Nope, no issues at all :).

You have the right to live permanently in the UK and your ILR will only become invalid if you leave the country for more than 2 years (i.e. If you move permanently back to the US and then leave it more than 2 years before deciding to move back to the UK).
