Obtaining a Spouse Visa

I am British and my wife is American.
If I return to the Uk and my only means of support is a state pension how can my wife join me?
As I understand it for her to use a spouse visa I need to be earning enough to support us i.e. more than my state pension.
Unfortunately I am almost 64 and my wife is just a couple of years younger, however we will have the proceeds from the sale of our house.

Two ways you can meet the requirement, it sounds like.

1.  If your pension income is at least £18,600 a year, you will meet it that way.
2.  If you will profit at least £62,500 from the sale of your home, you will meet it that way.

So hopefully you are good to go.
