I had no idea that there was going to be a march in London until a few days ago and I'm really excited about it. It would be nice to meet up with a few people as I haven't made many friends since being here but I would hate to impose.  :)

I'm a bit confused, I thought something was happening in London on Friday at 5 at the Embassy.

I'd much rather go on Saturday during the day when I am less likely to get kettled or beaten.

Do we have any more details about when and where this wil be?

CosmicRedHead, if I do end up going, you are welcome to come along.  You may change your mind if it ends up being a family trip with the kids.

I had no idea there was a march until a few days ago when someone pointed it out to me. I haven't heard of anything else happening on the Friday before although it's entirely possible. I did see your post about it though.

So we still are meeting at the embassy (at 12pm) before marching and attending the rally.

I wouldn't be opposed to tagging along! Would be nice to meet some fellow UK Yankees!

Thanks a bunch for that link, I had no idea there was a proper march on Saturday.

I'm going to have to talk to my wife and the kids normally go to French school on Saturday morning.  Still, I don't want to miss this as I missed the march against the invasion of Iraq and look how that turned out.

I'll post when I know better what my plans are

I'm meeting up with a couple others from our Fb group (but originally through UKY) at the Costa (outside by Nando's) at Euston station at 10:45 as all of our trains from the Midlands come into Euston. If anyone wants to meet us there, we'll head to Grosvenor Square on the tube from Euston. I think there are 6 of us meeting up there.

Cambridge is pulling something together for tomorrow. Noon at the Guildhall.

Some fun things have already started.  This morning on the Millennium Bridge we had drummers, banners and flags against Islamophobia.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow.

I read this as "...drummers, banners, and Islamophobia." and had to do a double-take to see the important word AGAINST.

Do you know how hard it is to type islamophobic on my tiny keyboard?  Must have taken me 10 attempts

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow.

Me too! It'll be my first time in London by myself so fingers crossed I don't get too lost.  :P
