Bank statement account history
« on: January 20, 2017, 03:09:57 PM »
In the supporting documents guide it says "If you have made deposits in your account that are not in keeping with the account history then you may wish to explain the origins and timing of these deposits."
What if my husband received gifts from Christmas, his birthday, or for our wedding. Does he need to explain every deposit?  Even small ones?

I would just explain any large, unordinary deposits.  All depends on your current transactions, but on my account a transaction for £1,000+ that wasn't from my employer would probably stand out and I'd explain that.

Ok. Thank you. That makes sense. What about withdrawals

They don't care about outgoings.  But if you had some massive transaction, I'd probably mention it just in the interest of full disclosure.

Ok. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
