Got my BRP. Is the # on the back my NIN?
« on: February 21, 2017, 03:03:27 PM »
 Hello all!

I just arrived here on my spouse visa, and recieved my BRP at the post office.
Is the number printed on it my NIN, if not, how do I go about obtaining it?
I would like to start working soon, and would want that beforehand.
Thank you for your help with every thing thus far. This site has been wonderful!  😀

I think they are only printing NINs on work visa BRPs at the moment, I don't think they are doing it for spouse visas yet.

An NIN will be in the format of 2 letters, 6 numbers and 1 letter.

If it's not on your BRP you'll need to apply for one, which can take about a month to receive.

you will need to call a job centre around where you live, make an appointment  fill in some documents and wait 6 weeks, you can still look for a job carry your BRP and passport
single and traveller
working on myself
