Man, the wierdest thing just happened to me.  Right after posting this, I checked my mail and there was the confirmation!  Literally 30 seconds later.  I wonder if UKVI are watching me?

That's good news :) Hopefully mine is not too far away.

Got an email today confirming receipt of my application, a Case ID number and saying it could take up to 6 months to process the application.

WHAT!?!?!

I'd contact your MP straight away.  Standard processing time is 8 weeks.  That is NOT on.

Are you straight forward?  Simply transferring from a vignette in an expired passport to a BRP?  Or had you lost your previous passport with the vignette inside?

My passport with the original vignette was not returned to me when I renewed it. The new passport they sent me has some text stamped in it. That passport is expired.

That's very odd.  The passport containing the vignette should have been returned and simply cancelled...

My confirmation letter says the same thing, 6 months.  I'm totally straightforward as far as I know.

Would my MP actually be able to do anything?  What if I wait until early April and request my passport back?

Big news, when I came home from work last night, there was my biometric appointment letter.

I went to the post office first thing this morning and got it done.

I wonder why they haven't taken any money from me yet.  BKUpris, how did you pay?

I'm hoping that we'll get our stuff back pretty soon.

Holy Cow!  Are you sure you are using the search function on the post office site correctly?  You click the link for something like "more filters " and then you get a bunch of checkboxes?  Just checking....
