I guess that the US will follow suit and suspend the VWP across all EU countries if this goes ahead.

"Two months"? The old men that run the EU take years to think about things and then another few years to bring it into action.

It looks like they are still taking their time on this.

Commission officials noted a planned EU-U.S. ministerial meeting on June 15 to try and resolve the issue, which has been running since 2014. The EU executive already allowed a deadline for a solution to pass nearly a year ago, without taking action.

"We will report on further progress made before the end of June and continue to work closely with both the European Parliament and the Council," a Commission spokeswoman said, referring to the council which groups the governments of the 28 EU member states.

And it might only be 27 states that the EU governs by then.

Hoping it doesn't happen. I would imagine that the US would immediately follow suit.

I read a few weeks ago that this same discussion has happened in the past with nothing coming of it. It's the European Parliament driving this, but the power to take actions lies with the European Commission, who is not interested in acting.
